HUGA
Sound insulated doors
- peace at last
Sound insulation today is an important mark of quality
in commercial and public buildings. Wherever people
work, sophisticated sound insulation plays its part
in preventing stress, improving performance and assuring
confidentiality. This applies to offices, doctors’
rooms and lawyers’ chambers, for instance. Kindergartens,
schools, libraries also need soundproofed rooms to play
and learn in. Doors with sound insulation alone are
not enough. Optimum noise protection can only be achieved
when there is TOTAL sound insulation. When tested, multi-layered
door leaves have proved to muffle noise levels up to
45 dBa. Where the door and frame meet is a classic acoustic
bridge. This must be completely closed, without any
gaps.
And along the lower edge all HUGA sound insulated doors
are equipped with retractable door seals of the type
SchallEX.

entrance doors in apartment buildings with average risk
factors.
Resistance rating 3 (WK 3) for apartment entrance doors
in apartment buildings and commercial areas with above-average
risk factors. Optimum intruder-resistance can only be
achieved when all components of the door and its installation
are co-ordinated.

Climate
control
Doors have to put up with a lot. Apart from the constant
mechanical pressures they are subject to in daily use,
the most obvious is climatic stress. A door leaf has
to absorb the temperature fluctuations between rooms
which are used for very different purposes.
Therefore
they have to be constructed according to firmly-defined
characteristics suited to their various areas of application.
To enable you to select the right model for your needs,
the RAL Quality Control Association has recommended
certain applications.
Especially
in new buildings which are erected faster than they
used to be, raised levels of humidity or “dry
heating with closed windows” create environments
which affect timber derivatives in ways which cannot
be reflected in the recommended applications. Such conditions
influence all types of material - even metals and plastics.
In the short term, different conditions on both sides
of even the most suitable door can cause the door to
react
by shrinking or expanding, leading to distortions. It
can, however, be assumed that such deviations will diminish
after the appropriate acclimatisation period. |

Moisture
proof doors
Only with DURAT/HPL decors. What is moisture stress?
With moisture stress the door leaf is only subjected
to moisture on the surface for short periods of time.
This moisture can have two causes: either increased
humidity (condensation) or water splashes. Moisture
stress typically occurs in the shower cubicle of hotel
rooms or in bathroom doors of apartments. This is where
HUGA moisture-proof doors prove their worth. The moisture-proof
door has a central layer of composite board.
A solid wood frame ensures stability of the HPL-surface
or the reliable HUGA-DURAT-surface. The lower edge is
especially protected against short-term moisture. All
fittings are corrosion-proofed to at least a rating
2 as per DIN EN 1670. We recommend stainless steel or
aluminium for the frames. Glass cut-outs are not available.
The HUGA moisture-proof door is available in combination
with the following climatic and mechanical applications
according to RAL-RG 426 part I: I/N; I/M; II/S und III/S
