Non-injurious to health, approved for direct contact
with foodstuffs
-
UV-resistant
DURAT
direct coating is a process in which decorative paper
soaked in melamine resin is permanently bonded to a
backing sheet. The process takes place at approx. 180°C
and a pressure of 25 kp/cm2.
This
corresponds to a pressure of 430t on a door surface
of 1,985 x 860 mm. With CPL or HPL the decor is pressed
onto the door’s surface with glue at a pressure
of only 2.5 to 5 kp/cm2.
HUGA’s more costly short cycle procedure thus
produces a technically superior DURAT surface in comparison
to CPL and HPL, particularly with respect to its improved
non-scratch properties and better chemical resistance.
During
the pressing process, the DURAT finish acquires a long-lasting
impression of natural wood grains or pore effects.
